Tile Transition To Wood Floor

When two different flooring materials meet, such as tile and wood, a transition strip is used to create a smooth and even surface. Materials:

Wood filler

Instructions:

Measure and cut the transition strip. The transition strip should be cut to the length of the area where the tile and wood flooring meet. Use a utility knife to score the transition strip and then snap it apart.
Install the transition strip. Position the transition strip over the seam between the tile and wood flooring and nail it into place using a nail gun. Make sure that the nails are countersunk below the surface of the transition strip.
Fill the nail holes. Use wood filler to fill the nail holes. Allow the wood filler to dry completely.
Caulk the edges of the transition strip. Use a caulk gun to apply a bead of caulk around the edges of the transition strip. Smooth the caulk with your finger.
